Terms of Service
These terms explain how Compass is provided to your business, and what each side is responsible for. By using Compass, your business agrees to them.
Who these terms are between
Compass is provided by Gambit Agents S.A.R.L., a company registered in Lebanon (“Gambit”, “we”). These terms are between Gambit and the business that uses Compass (“your business”, “you”). Compass is a service for businesses, not for personal use.
Your account
The owner of the business signs in to Compass. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done with your account, and for the staff you add and allow to record sales by WhatsApp.
Your WhatsApp Business account
Compass works through your business’s own WhatsApp Business account and phone number. That account is yours, and it is governed by Meta’s own terms and policies as well as these. Your business is responsible for:
- its WhatsApp Business account and phone number, and following Meta’s terms and policies;
- the message templates sent in its name;
- any charges Meta makes for messages sent from its number;
- having its customers’ agreement before Compass sends them messages on its behalf, such as sale confirmations and reminders.
You can disconnect your number from Compass at any time.
Using Compass properly
You agree not to use Compass to:
- send spam, or messages to people who have not agreed to hear from your business;
- record or send anything unlawful, misleading or harmful;
- try to reach another business’s information, or get around how Compass keeps businesses apart;
- disrupt, overload or copy the service.
Your data
Your business’s records — its sales, customers, prices, staff and messages — belong to your business. Gambit processes them on your behalf, only to provide Compass to you, and never sells them or uses them for advertising. The privacy page explains exactly what is held, who helps us run the service, and where it is stored.
Replies written by AI
Compass uses an AI model to read messages and word its replies. Nothing is recorded until the person sending a sale confirms what Compass understood, but mistakes can still happen. You remain responsible for checking your records and for the decisions you make from them.
Availability
We work to keep Compass running and your data safe, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Compass also depends on services we do not control, such as WhatsApp. We may change or improve Compass over time.
Fees
The fees for Compass, if any, are agreed separately between your business and Gambit. Charges Meta makes for WhatsApp messages are separate, and are between your business and Meta.
Ending the service
You can stop using Compass at any time by telling us. We may suspend or end your access if these terms are broken, if your use puts the service or other businesses at risk, or if the law requires it. When the service ends, or whenever you ask, we delete your business’s information.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Gambit is not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and Gambit’s total liability to your business is limited to the fees your business paid for Compass in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. Any dispute about them is for the courts of Beirut.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When the change matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. The date below shows when they last changed.
